Biographical/Historical Note

Minnie Bowden was born in Fairfield, Maine in 1915 and graduated from Waterville High School in 1932 and Gorham Normal School in 1934. She received a BS in education and a Master of Education from the University of Maine in 1938 and 1962. She taught in a number of towns in Maine and led workshops for teachers on the teaching of reading. Bowden attended many writing workshops and conferences and her poetry appeared in a number of publications. She died in 2000.
